Fulbright Program Opportunities for Mexicans Grants are available for Mexican students to pursue Master's and Ph.D. degrees in the U.S. and for one-year non-degree study at a U.S. university for students who will return to complete a Ph.D. in a Mexican university. Additional awards are available for the study of public policy and other select fields. Mexico also participates in the Fulbright Faculty Development Program, which offers advanced degrees for a limited number of faculty members in Mexican universities. Post-doctoral research opportunities are offered to Mexican scholars. The Border Scholars program enables Mexicans teaching in institutions along the U.S. border to spend part of each week teaching or conducting research in a U.S. institution across the border. Grants are available to Mexican teachers and school administrators for semester or academic-year exchanges in U.S. schools. Mexican students and scholars are also eligible to participate in worldwide Fulbright Programs such as the Fulbright Science and Technology Program and the Hubert H. Humphrey Program. Fulbright Program Opportunities for Americans in Mexico Grants to Mexico for U.S. citizens are offered in the student, scholar and teacher categories. Approximately 20 full-year awards are available for students to carry out either independent or Ph.D. dissertation research, and approximately 4 grants are available for degree study in Mexico. Up to 9 awards are available in the Binational Business Category, which offers a year’s internship in a Mexican company coupled with study towards a certificate in business. Approximately 20 lecturer/research awards, including three in TEFL, and up to six Fulbright Specialist awards are generally offered for U.S. faculty and professionals with support provided by Mexican host institutions. The Border Scholars program enables U.S. scholars teaching in institutions along the Mexican border to spend part of each week teaching or conducting research in a Mexican institution across the border.
